Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Joshua graduated with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. After earning his Actor’s Equity card from Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre (PICT), Joshua moved to New York City to pursue his passions.
In New York, Desjardins has starred and produced his own one-man show, “Nerds Among Us,” followed by a run of a successful two-man show, “Joshing Around,” alongside his Josh-cohort, Joshua Warr. Desjardins has even recorded music after being called “New York City’s favorite nerd,” including his most popular song and music video for “I’m a Nerd.”
In 2023, Joshua published his first children’s book, “ The Tale of Two Princes“ along with his illustrator and friend, Michael Hetrick of Hetrick Designs. Both hope to turn this beautiful story about love, tolerance and acceptance into a series that not only encourages today’s youth to be themselves, but they also hope to empathize with adults of all ages.
Desjardins has a clear passion for technology as he loves to help fellow actors with all their technical needs. Desjardins has created Affordable Acting to encompass all his technical services, including web design, video editing, graphic design, and even social media management.
